As a native Chicagoan, I have to stump for my city making a superior pie. I’ve had New York-style pizza before, and it’s good, but our thin crust and deep-dish are far and away, the better choice. For deep-dish, you have to go to Giordano’s or Lou Malnatti’s. For thin crust, you have your choice of Leona’s, Pizzeria Uno, or Father & Son. It’s just really good eatin’. The appeal for me, of Chicago-style thin crust vs. what you get in New York is that the crust is more like a cracker, which doesn’t require you to fold it. The pizza is cut into squares, rather than triangles. Of all the things I miss about Chicago, that’s #1 on the list.
Oh, and all was right with the world. 😉
