They’re not role models.

Am I the only person who gets annoyed at people for idolizing celebrities?  Not just athletes, but movie stars, TV stars, musicians, etc.  I can understand wanting to succeed at your particular goals like someone else did, like a young black man wanting to be President because Barack Obama became President, or a Little Leaguer wanting to make it to the New York Yankees because Derek Jeter did, but what I don’t get are people that want to be like the Kardashians or any of the other reality show trash that litters our cultural landscape.

On what planet is a family who made their “fame” off the back of a sex tape where the female participant got peed on, role models?  When and where did we decide this was acceptable?  I must have missed that meeting.  These are disgusting, immoral losers.  They’re garbage people.  They belong in a trash bin with cat litter, soiled diapers, and rotten produce dumped on their heads.  If that sounds harsh, good.  It’s meant to be.  I like brainless, silly entertainment as much as the next person, but I’m smart enough to know the difference between a person or people worth admiring, and a person or people who are not.

Oh well, I in a way love this post of yours. We should know the differences, c’mon we didn’t evolve for nothing!
