Give me a salad on bread.

As much as I enjoy a nice Boar’s Head rare roast beef sandwich on sourdough, it’s expensive and thus not within my budget at the moment.  What is within the budget however, is a Veggie Delite sub from Subway.  I always get it on Italian Herbs and Cheese (toasted) with provolone cheese, lettuce, spinach, tomato, extra pickles, green peppers, red onion, and cucumbers, plus extra vinegar, light oil, and salt and pepper.  My dad laughs at me whenever I eat it because it’s basically a salad between two slices of bread, but it’s cheap and it’s delicious.  Plus, I’m getting all my veggies and fiber in one fell swoop.  When I get a BLT it looks exactly the same, only with the addition of bacon.  I don’t put mayonnaise on it because mayonnaise is gross.  I can only tolerate a little of it mixed with tuna fish, but that’s it.  Hopefully next week I’ll be able to get my “salad on bread” sandwich again, because it’s really, really good.

Haha, I prefer somebody else’s sandwich recipe that I heard. They told me, “A key to a good sandwich is a 2:1 meat to bread ratio.”
