It would be refreshing.

Ever since I was a child, I’ve had a difficult time sleeping in the afternoon unless I’m really, really sick. When I was in Pre-K and Kindergarten, I would never take naps with everyone else during the day, I would just lay there and stare at the ceiling. When the teacher would invariably ask my mom and dad why I wouldn’t go to sleep like all my classmates did, they’d say that I don’t sleep in the afternoon unless I’m sick. After that, my teachers gave me a book to read so I had something to do. I’m still like that now, even as an adult. No matter how tired I might be, I just can’t fall asleep. I’ve tried putting on classical music, I’ve tried wearing my sleep mask to block out all light, I’ve tried spraying lavender on my pillows and whatnot…no dice. The only time I’ve been able to successfully sleep during the day when I wasn’t sick was when I was in the hospital back in August getting my gallbladder removed, and that’s because I was doped up on Dilaudid, and that shit would knock out a charging rhino.

Any tips for taking a nap in the afternoon? Is there something I’m not doing or haven’t tried that I should look into? Sometimes I could really use an hour of snoozing.  :-\
