This time of year, when I want to get comfortable and cozy and warm, I always start with a big mug of hot chocolate with marshmallows. In fact, if I can still see the hot chocolate in the mug, then I haven’t added enough marshmallows. I don’t want those little dinky ones, either. I want the big fat ones that look like marshmallows on steroids. I’ve had hot chocolate made with milk that is super fancy, and I’ve had the Swiss Miss hot chocolate you can mix with water and heat up in the microwave — it’s all good to me. I like to dunk shortbread cookies into my hot cocoa, but if all I have on hand are chocolate chip cookies, well, needs must.
